The third annual Chocolatefest, sponsored by The Freedom District Lioness Club will celebrate everything chocolate and showcases our region’s best chocolatiers.   Chocolatefest will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 21 at the Pleasant Valley Fire Department, 2030 South Pleasant Valley Road, Westminster.

The Board of Education of Carroll County has requested community input and assistance in the hiring of a new Superintendent of Schools. The Board has initiated its search for a new Superintendent due to the retirement of current Superintendent Dr. Charles Ecker, effective June 30, 2010.

The Carroll County Arts Council just ended its annual Festival of Wreaths on Sunday afternoon.   221 unique creations were displayed and offered through a silent auction during the past week.  Nearly $22,000 was during the event.

Student dancers from Winters Mill High School have been selected to perform at the formal evening event of the Maryland High School Dance Showcase. The performance will take place on Friday, January 8, 2010, at the Kraushaar Auditorium at Goucher College.

Carroll Springs School and the Hailey's Wish Foundation invite members of the community to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony of the new playground at the school on Saturday, November 14, 2009, at 10 a.m. All are invited to share in the celebration. Light refreshments will be served inside the school after the ceremony. There will a variety of free children's activities, treats, and fun for all.
