 barocky-road In honor of the 44th President of the United States, Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream has introduced a new flavor: "Barocky Road."
Barocky Road is a blend of half vanilla, half chocolate, and surrounded by nuts and flakes. The vanilla portion of the mix is not openly advertised and usually denied as an ingredient. The nuts and flakes are all very bitter and hard to swallow.

Final tax data from 2008 now proves what many predicted but had been strenuously denied by Democrats in Annapolis: Maryland's high income earners are voting with their feet.
In calling a special session for the purpose of passing an historic tax increase less than a year after his election, Governor Martin O'Malley changed Maryland's personal income tax from a flat rate to a graduated system with a surcharge on high income earners.

Three people, including a mother and son, were arrested early Friday morning following a 4:30 a.m. drug raid conducted by five police agencies executing a search and seizure warrant in Sykesville.
The Sykesville Police Department executed the search and seizure warrant at 7513 Braemar Court in Sykesville, assisted by the Maryland State Police, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Hampstead Police Department and the Carroll County CERT Team.

South Carroll residents will have an opportunity to speak directly and candidly with the outgoing three member Board of Carroll County Commissioners in an open forum Wednesday, March 24. The Town Hall meeting, originally set for March 30 will be conducted in an open format to allow area residents to voice whatever topic or issue the community wishes to address. Scheduled to run from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. the forum will be held in the dining room of the South Carroll Senior and Community Center, located at 5928 Mineral Hill Road, Eldersburg.

A federal grand jury has indicted Irvin Hannis Catlett, Jr., age 63, of Potomac, Maryland; Walter Cullum, Jr., age 36, of Columbia, Maryland; Mark E. Hunt, age 44, of Baltimore; and James Unterreiner II, age 33, of Bowie, Maryland, for charges related to a wide-ranging tax evasion scheme. The indictment was returned on March 10, 2010 and unsealed late yesterday upon the arrest of Catlett and Hunt.

Late last Friday, the Congressional Budget Office released a little-noticed report, “Preliminary Analysis of the President’s Budget Request for 2011,” which found that the President’s FY 2011 Budget “would create bigger deficits than advertised every year of the next decade, with the shortfalls totaling $1.2 trillion more than the administration projected,” according to Bloomberg News.
