Throughout the summer, the Carroll County Arts Council is hosting a series of free movie musicals, every Monday evening at 7 pm.
The film on July 6 will be "Annie," the 1982 version of the smash-hit Broadway musical. It is the timeless story of Little Orphan Annie as she dreams of the day when her parents will rescue her from the evil Mrs. Hannigan's orphanage. It stars the darling Aileen Quinn as Annie, Carol Burnett as Mrs. Hannigan and Albert Finney as Daddy Warbucks who reluctantly falls in love with the precocious little red head. Certainly its signature song, "Tomorrow," has become an icon of the musical theatre and every little girl knows the words!
The film is rated PG and runs 128 minutes. This screening is sponsored by Rhoten's Printing of Westminster. Free tickets are available in advance at the box office or by sending a S.A.S.E to the Arts Council at 91 West Main Street, Westminster, MD 21157.
