Voices in Annapolis

An elected representative's free zone. Here Maryland legislators can speak their minds in their own words about bills introduced, raise arguments over any issue or share policy ideas worth exploring for a better Maryland.

We are the only publication in Maryland that provides this service, allowing a direct conduit with voters without an editor parsing and approving how representatives speak to their constituency. Electioneering missives will not be permitted.

A legislators appearance in the Carroll Standard Voices in Annapolis does not constitute an endorsement for any office holder or for their opinions or positions taken. Material in this section is the sole responsibility of the writer and the Carroll Standard makes no claims to accuracy or positions.

" But as the plan of the convention aims only at a partial union or consolidation, the State governments would clearly retain all the rights of sovereignty which they before had, and which were not, by that act, EXCLUSIVELY delegated to the United States. "

-- Alexander Hamilton (Federalist No. 32, 3 January 1788)
