162K Maryland Voters Demand to be Heard on the Definition of Marriage

Statement From Derek McCoy Chairman Of The Maryland Marriage Alliance:

Annapolis, Md. -- Today, the Maryland Marriage Alliance and our partners have excellent news. We submitted a final list of signatures to the Maryland Secretary of State's office. In less than one month, we gathered an additional 39,743 signatures of Marylanders who want to protect the definition of marriage as a union between one man and one woman.

These additional signatures bring the total count to 162,241.

In spite of what our opponents will say, these incredible numbers clearly show that Marylanders strongly REJECT the idea of redefining marriage.

The Maryland Marriage Alliance and our diverse coalition of partners are confident that this momentum will continue. In November this issue will be settled in our state and the definition of marriage will remain a union between one man and one woman.
