Inside Carroll: Federal Agencies Battle over Conowingo? To Dredge or not to Dredge

Carroll County government is part of the Clean Chesapeake Coalition (CCC), which has been advocating for the past year that the Conowingo Dam be dredged in order to mitigate the negative impact of sediment, nutrients and phosphorus that flow over the dam during major storms and impact the health of the Chesapeake Bay.


Predator Alert: Howard County teacher charged with sexual assault of teen

Fox ChristopherHoward County police have arrested a local teacher for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy he met on the Internet. Christopher Russell Fox, 36, of Orpin Road in Randallstown, has been charged with multiple counts of sex offenses and sexual solicitation of a minor.

State's Attorney for Carroll County Dead in Apparent Suicide

1-MessageJerry Francis Barnes, State's Attorney for Carroll County was rushed to Carroll Hospital Center earlier today where he was pronounced dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Barnes was a lifelong resident of Carroll County and has served as a criminal prosecutor for a total of 38 years, including the past 20 as Carroll County’s State’s Attorney. Barnes failed his re-election bid for another term.
