Conflict of interest complaint filed against working unionized teacher now Carroll County Commissioner-elect

A constituent of Carroll County Commissioner District 3 has filed an ethics complaint with the Carroll County Ethics Commission requesting their review of the inherent conflict between the employment of Commissioner-Elect Dennis Frazier and his responsibilities as County Commissioner. Frazier is a full time teacher and union member in the Carroll County public school system.


Boehner Kills Internet Sales Tax Bill

A bill granting states the ability to force out-of-state websites to collect sales tax is dead, according to Boehner’s spokesman.

Stunner: Progressive's Repudiated in Maryland, Brown Down

Republican businessman Larry Hogan scored a stunning upset in heavily Democratic Maryland on Tuesday, winning the governor’s race against Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown (D) by promising to roll back tax increases and chart a new direction for the state.

Hogan’s narrow victory means Annapolis will return to divided government for the first time since 2006. It remains to be seen how much Hogan will be able to accomplish with a Democratic-controlled legislature, but his victory sent a message that Marylanders had grown weary of the policies of Gov. Martin O’Malley (D) after eight years.
