Paul Ryan Brings Budget Issues to Fore

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney on Saturday announced Representative Paul Ryan as his choice for running mate. In recent years, Ryan's budget blueprints and his plans to reformMedicare and Medicaid have been the subject of much Cato commentary. Though he is not without hisfaults, argues Cato scholar Chris Edwards, "Ryan understands federal spending and tax policies in enormous detail and is an articulate defender of free enterprise."
