Idiot Alert: No Talent DiCaprio at Oscars: 'Climate Change...is Most Urgent Threat Facing Our Entire Species'

Mark Judge | CNSNews:

Leonardo DiCaprio won the 2016 Best Actor Academy Award for his film "The Revenant." During his acceptance speech, DiCaprio talked about what he sees as the crisis of climate change:

The Rise of Intolerant Liberals

Kim R. Holmes, Daily Signal:

Why have liberals become so intolerant? They think nothing of denying someone as prominent as former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice from speaking on a college campus. They embrace activists who shut down speakers. They publicly shame people for the slightest deviation from liberal orthodoxy.

Breitbart Exclusive: Twitter Shadowbanning 'Real and Happening Every Day' Says Inside Source

twitter jail AP 640x480

This practice is not exclusive to just Twitter. Facebook and Google also throttle conservative voices and have for years. It's what progressive propaganda tools do. They have no understanding of free will or thought. They fancy themselves social engineers. They are all members of the participation trophy generation and do as they were taught. Silence those that challenge the progressive narrative.

Nonetheless, we here at the Carroll Standard have been battling these free speech challenged folks for years to have our content fairly distributed to no avail. With almost 77,000 followers, according to Twitter's own analytics, the Carroll Standard articles or posts average anywhere from 100-1,200 impressions in our Twitter friends timelines. Odd, considering, an audit of @CarrollStandard rates our followers 97% real and active.

Breitbart reports:

Rumours that Twitter has begun ‘shadowbanning’ politically inconvenient users have been confirmed by a source inside the company, who spoke exclusively to Breitbart Tech. His claim was corroborated by a senior editor at a major publisher.

According to the source, Twitter maintains a ‘whitelist’ of favoured Twitter accounts and a ‘blacklist’ of unfavoured accounts. Accounts on the whitelist are prioritised in search results, even if they’re not the most popular among users. Meanwhile, accounts on the blacklist have their posts hidden from both search results and other users’ timelines.

Our source was backed up by a senior editor at a major digital publisher, who told Breitbart that Twitter told him it deliberately whitelists and blacklists users. He added that he was afraid of the site’s power, noting that his tweets could disappear from users’ timelines if he got on the wrong side of the company.

Shadowbanning, sometimes known as “Stealth Banning” or “Hell Banning,” is commonly used by online community managers to block content posted by spammers. Instead of banning a user directly (which would alert the spammer to their status, prompting them to create a new account), their content is merely hidden from public view.

For site owners, the ideal shadowban is when a user never realizes he’s been shadowbanned.

However, Twitter isn’t merely targeting spammers. For weeks, users have been reporting that tweets from populist conservatives, members of the alternative right, cultural libertarians, and other anti-PC dissidents have disappeared from their timelines. ... Read the rest here...

Hypocrite Schumer in 2007: No More Supreme Court Confirmations

And this via Ed Whelan at National Review:

As this Politico article reported, in late July 2007—more than 15 months in advance of the 2008 presidential election—Democratic senator Chuck Schumer, “a powerful member of the Democratic leadership,” told an American Constitution Society convention that the Senate “should not confirm another U.S. Supreme Court nominee under President Bush ‘except in extraordinary circumstances.’”

In 1960 Senate Democrat hypocrites pass resolution against election-year Supreme Court recess appointments

This via David Bernstein at the Washington Post’s Volokh Conspiracy blog:

Thanks to a Volokh Conspiracy commenter, I discovered that in August 1960, the Democrat-controlled Senate passed a resolution, S.RES. 334, “Expressing the sense of the Senate that the president should not make recess appointments to the Supreme Court, except to prevent or end a breakdown in the administration of the Court’s business.”  Each of President Eisenhower’s Supreme Court appointments had initially been a recess appointment who was later confirmed by the Senate, and the Democrats were apparently concerned that Ike would try to fill any last-minute vacancy that might arise with a recess appointment. Not surprisingly, the Republicans objected, insisting that the Court should have a full complement of Justices at all times. Of course, the partisan arguments will be exactly the opposite this time.

What does it say of an apathetic society so susceptible, so easily coerced by a lower species of progressive social engineers--via state run media and the political class--to dismiss a challenger to the status quo because they are too honest, too wholesome, too intelligent, too soft-spoken; where faith, integrity, humility, and transparency are considered character flaws in the operations of government.
